DAS Energy solar panels installed on Magenta's T-center roof
Our DAS Kraftwerk installation team recently installed and successfully commissioned a high-performance photovoltaic system with almost 400 kWp at the iconic T-Center in Vienna's Sankt Marx district (3rd district, Landstraße). Innovative, ultra-lightweight PV modules from DAS Energy (330 Wp) were used, which were bonded directly to the roof substrate. This special adhesive technology not only enables secure attachment but also particularly fast installation with minimal roof load – without any heavy substructures.
This project is an impressive example of how technical innovation and architectural sophistication can be harmoniously combined. The flexible solar technology integrates seamlessly into the complex building structure and simultaneously makes an active contribution to sustainable energy generation in the heart of the city – a further step towards the urban energy transition.
The T-Center itself was built between 2002 and 2004 according to designs by architects Günther Domenig, Hermann Eisenköck, and Herfried Peyker for Magenta Telekom (T-Mobile Austria GmbH). Today, it is considered one of Vienna's architectural landmarks. Its artistically staged lighting is particularly striking—a visual highlight for the people of Vienna, comparable to the nighttime staging of buildings such as the Eiffel Tower or the Vienna State Opera, which impressively showcases the building's distinctive design language.
