Our pioneering work in photovoltaic technology started in 2010. Christian Dries, founder and CEO of DAS Energy Ltd., and his team developed the world's first photovoltaic modules embedded in glass fiber reinforced composite material. The technology used was inspired by aviation. This made it possible to produce the lightest photovoltaic modules on the market, which at the same time guarantee a service life of more than 40 years. Since 2016, the high-quality DAS Energy photovoltaic modules have been manufactured at the site in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria and are distributed worldwide. In the process, the technology is constantly being further developed in the research and development center. The production capacity is currently 55 megawatts per year.

Founder and CEO

Christian Dries

DAS Energy founder and CEO Christian Dries has a background in the aviation industry, having founded Diamond Aircraft and running the enterprise successfully for many years. In addition to manufacturing aircraft, Dries began developing innovative and lightweight photovoltaic modules using the same fibreglass materials as are used in the construction of aircraft. DAS Energy Ltd. was founded in 2010 on the basis of this research. As DAS Energy's PV modules became ready for market, Dries sold off Diamond Aircraft to focus on photovoltaics as his main business.

Headquartered in Wiener Neustadt, DAS Energy Ltd. is a research and development center and a production facility for photovoltaic modules with a production capacity of 55 MWp per year. As a green tech company, we aim to set new standards as a global pioneer in lightweight photovoltaic technology: glass-free, frameless, flexible, ultra-light, easy to assemble, suitable for extreme weather conditions, reliable and durable.
