With the recently completed photovoltaic project on the roof of the Ybbstaler Solebad in Göstling an der Ybbs, we are sending a clear signal for sustainable energy in tourism-related and public facilities. The Solebad is well known far beyond the region as an adventure, wellness, and family spa, combining swimming areas, a sauna world, and relaxation for young and old alike into a unique place of encounter and recreation.

Our DAS Kraftwerk installation team installed a high-performance PV system there, consisting of 224 modules (11×6 FJB) and achieving a nominal output of 73.92 kWp – a genuine step toward energy self-sufficiency for this popular leisure destination.

What makes this project particularly exciting is the special roof design with its pronounced curves, as well as the integration of the system on a bitumen roofing membrane – both of which posed challenges that our solutions mastered with great precision. Thanks to close cooperation with the GWT Group, the implementation proceeded smoothly.

This project clearly demonstrates how technical innovation and architectural features can be meaningfully combined: the solar technology blends harmoniously into the curved roof landscape while simultaneously making an active contribution to sustainable on-site energy generation. It represents another step toward the local energy transition and shows how public buildings can function as active producers of electricity.
